General Duties

  1. Receiving and Inspection
    • Unloading deliveries and checking for damaged or missing items.
    • Verifying shipment contents against purchase orders.
  2. Inventory Management
    • Organizing and storing goods properly in designated locations.
    • Conducting regular inventory checks and updating inventory systems.
    • Labeling items with identification codes or tags.
  3. Picking and Packing
    • Locating and picking items from shelves based on orders.
    • Packing items securely for shipping.
    • Preparing shipping labels and documentation.
  4. Shipping and Dispatch
    • Loading goods onto delivery vehicles.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely dispatch of products.
  5. Equipment Operation
    • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery to move heavy items.
    • Performing routine maintenance on equipment.
  6. Safety and Compliance
    • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
    • Following health and safety regulations.
    • Reporting hazards, accidents, or near-misses to supervisors.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items (e.g., 30-50 lbs).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with inventory software and scanning equipment (e.g., RF scanners).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift certification (optional or required, depending on the role).

Optional Responsibilities

  1. Supervisory Roles
    • Training new staff on warehouse procedures.
    • Overseeing shifts and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
  2. Maintenance and Repairs
    • Inspecting and maintaining storage systems or machinery.
    • Assisting with facility repairs as needed.
  3. Specialized Roles
    • Handling hazardous materials with appropriate safety measures.
    • Managing temperature-sensitive goods (e.g., cold storage).
